My Concept

These works that are below the text are the result of some humble technical experiments of color and composition, in which I managed to represent in a space a bunch of objects apparently simple objects, their purpose is to shock the audience by it's pure triviality.
This idea came to me when I was reading a bool called ''Ghid DaDa pentru postumani'' written by Andrei Codrescu, where the author describes a ready-made done by Marcel Duchamp, called ''The Fountain''.
The idea of Duchamp to take an object with a certain utility and remove it from it's functional context and to set it in a exposition fascinated me, because art doesn't have a practical utility, which means that we can decontextualize an object with a certain utility, painting it so that objects become a reality by it self, with no functionality, in a single word ''art''.
After some vigurous research about composition I was advised to read a theoretical work of Rudolf Arnheim, a book called ''Art and Visual Perception''. In '' Modern sewing machine'' and ''Nocturnal industrial landscape'' I tried to focus more on the composition being influenced on what I read about the theories from the book. In ''Modern sewing machine'' I made possible a centric composition with spatial vectors (represented by shelves, a red stripe on the bottom of painting, the table and the corner of the wall) that start from a centered ''power'' point to the margins of the canvas that make possible the illusion of spatial continuity.
Because of the fact that art doesn't have a practical utility, I think that every object usefull or useless, ugly or beautiful, can be depicted in a painting giving it a nobel feature, and this make us to look at simple things from another perspective.
